Pogradec and its surrounding area have been recognized by UNESCO as part of the natural and cultural heritage of the Ohrid region.

Additionally, the Illyrian Royal Tombs in the nearby area of Proptisht are listed on Albania’s tentative list for World Heritage status.

Nearby Pogradec are the villages of Lin and Tushemisht. Just 10 kilometers from the city, on the North Macedonian side of the border, lies the famous Monastery of Saint Naum.
